PACKAGING IS THE OUTER COVER OF A PRODUCT
There are different kinds of package levels, techniques and steps to properly palletize shipments to avoid damage!

LEVELS OF PACKAGE
There are these levels to go through while packing:
- Primary Package- means the product’s immediate wrapper or container or cover right after it is produced.
- Secondary Package- adding additional layers over the primary package to increase its protection level.
- Shipping Package- It is an additional external layer added to the products for storage, identification, bulky handling, transportation, and protection for distant distribution and long-time storage.

3 TECHNIQUES TO PROPERLY PALLETIZE SHIPMENTS
Secure packaging with these septs:
- Effectively Shrink Wrapping Your Cargo- you should have 5 layers of shrink wrapping surrounding your cargo with the upwards “X” pattern on each side of the cargo.
- Vibration Damage Avoidance- properly stacking your cargo. If you have stiffer boxes, place your heaviest cargo in it, package it tightly, and place the box at the bottom of the pallet.
- Bracing and Protecting- we highly suggest creating a protective wall around your goods, helps to keep cargo secure to the pallet when shrink-wrapped, and resistant to tears and scrapes.
HOW TO PACK PALLETS?
- CHOOSE THE RIGHT PALLET -
Use a pallet that is large enough so that your shipment does not overhang the edges.
- STACK IN COLUMNS -
Stack the boxes in columns and try to distribute the weight evenly across the pallet.
- DO NOT OVERHANG -
Pallets which have items over hanging them can become damaged easily and will not be accepted.
- KEEP IT FLAT -
Keep the top level of the pallet flat to minimise risk of loss or damage to cartons.
- LABEL -
Remove old labels and seal the flap.
To make sure it sticks, put the label on the boxes not the plastic.
- SECURE THE SHIPMENTS -
When shrink wrapping the items on the pallet, ensure that the shrink wrap goes around the base of the pallet as well.
